First of all, we must clearly observe the characteristics of the target. For example, when you look at bright and detailed objects, such as the moon, Saturn, and Jupiter, you need a telescope with a longer lens, which will help you get larger magnification; when you are looking for dim distant nebulae, galaxies, and so on, you need one. The telescope with shorter focal length has larger field of view and higher contrast. Secondly, the aperture of the telescope should be considered. Because the aperture determines the resolution of the telescope, that is to say, the telescope with large aperture can make the imaging more clear. But the big caliber is not only the higher price, but also the possibility of your carrying, so you need to find a balance point for the individual in terms of caliber and portability.

In addition, the price of the telescope with the same optical form and caliber may also be greatly different, mainly due to the different manufacturing accuracy. Small aperture telescopes with higher accuracy are often more effective than those made of large calibre telescopes. Therefore, with the proper focal length, high optical quality, and under the premise that it is economically viable, the larger telescope is the most appropriate choice.
